North Pacific Climate Summaries For an overview of climatic conditions over the North Pacific Ocean, annual summaries co-written by Nick Bond, State Climatologist and NOAA/PMEL employee, are linked here. They are excerpts from the "Ecosystems Considerations" section of the Stock Assessment and Fishery Evaluations (SAFE), which is produced annually by the Alaska Fishery Science Center (AFSC) for the North Pacific Fishery Management Counsil (NPFMC). The reports have a similar style each year, and are complimentary to the OWSC newsletter and weather and climate events featured on our Climate Events page.
