Karin Bumbaco
Interim State Climatologist, is the primary point of contact for queries about Washington climate and access to data. Her research focuses on WA weather and climate, and includes projects on historical heat events, recent droughts, and wildfire. Recently, Karin has led the strategic planning effort for the Office of the Washington State Climatologist. Karin has a B.S. in Meteorology from The Pennsylvania State University and a M.S. in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University.
Nick Bond
Emeritus State Climatologist, is a senior research scientist with the Cooperative Institute for Climate, Ocean, and Ecosystem Studies (CICOES) of the University of Washington (UW) and also is an affiliate associate professor with the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at UW. His research is on a broad range of topics with a focus on the weather and climate of the Pacific Northwest, and the linkages between the climate and marine ecosystems of the North Pacific. He has a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the UW.
